A huge thank you to the SportsAid Foundation and a deserved congratulations to Hamish,13, City of Birmingham & GB, who after being nominated by British Gymnastics was successful in receiving a generous training and development award.

The award has been made possible through SportsAid’s partnership with the Jaguar Academy of Sport. It is an exclusive programme which supports only 50 highly talented young athletes a year. In addition to the financial benefit, the programme also gives the opportunity to attend useful workshops with other athletes and meet SportsAid alumni and Jaguar Academy of Sport patrons and ambassadors such as Denise Lewis, Jessica Ennis, Sir Chris Hoy and Steven Gerrard.

Hamish will be receiving his award at the official 2012 Jaguar Academy of Sport celebration event on Wednesday 18th April at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield. The event will also be an opportunity for Hamish to meet some of the patrons, ambassadors and to experience his first ‘talent day’ as part of the unique Mentoring and Education Programme which will be hosted by Dame Kelly Holmes.

Further congratulations go out to Joe, 13, City of Birmingham & GB, who has also received an award through the SportsAid Foundation and their relationship with Asda. As well as the financial aid Asda have also offered the opportunity to the City of Birmingham GC to raise funds in their stores so a big thank you to Asda from us.
