A diary of Bulgaria!

August 7th 2011

Dear diary,

At this moment I am at the airport waiting to fly to Bulgaria, hoping everything will go smoothly……well all I can say is that failed, apparently we have a 4 and a half hour delay!! Our flight is now leaving at 2:30am! Let’s hope that this is the only hurdle we come across on our journey.

So we were supposed to fly yesterday, now it is 1:20am and we are still waiting for our gate number to come up on the screen. Very, very tired and stressed and because it is so late the rest of England is sleeping and so there is no one to phone or contact. The thing that is worrying us slightly is that we might need to train as soon as we get to Bulgaria working on hardly or no sleep! Well eventful is not the word!

August 8th 2011

Dear diary,

First day in Bulgaria  although we are very tired with a maximum of 2hours sleep I trained for 4hours and completed 11 routines! It is VERY VERY VERY hot here! Training is almost unbearable. After training we had dinner and got ready for bed we were that tired. It is going to be a long couple of weeks and this is just the beginning ………GOODNIGHT

Dear diary,

Getting used to the heat and the lack of sleep is harder then you’d think….today I was ill and had to sit out for about an hour of training but after a little much needed nap in lunch I trained again in the afternoon and all went well.

Dear diary,

Training is hard but feels very achievable and honouring to you! Makes you feel proud of yourself. We have a ballet session everyday and it is THE hardest ballet I have ever done! It is really strict! However today we did a longer session of 7hours with about a 10minute break it was very tough but I got through it. There wasn’t any lunch today just juice! After training Frankie and I went to get a professional body massage! It was AMAZING and worth all the training. Then after chopping on dinner because we were starving we went on facebook to keep in touch with everyone in England it was really good to contact them! One day someone told me that I had to keep my focus to be able to go to the world championships and it is amazing to be able to tell them that I managed to do it! After socialising we went to bed for a much needed rest……GOODNIGHT

August 11th 2011

Dear diary,

Today training was harder as I had to add another 4 routines on to my training plan although it feels good to be able to do it. Haha! However the ballet today was awful I didn’t have a very good session but you can’t always have a good session there are ups and downs to training that’s part of being a gymnast! You have to find little things to cheer you up and so I found it a little giggle that the ballet teacher had a G-star raw top on because she is very traditional and strict! Sometimes when they are strict and shout at you it is disheartening but you know and have to think that it will make you better as a gymnast and it will also make you a stronger person in time

Dear diary,

Today’s training was very good although my muscles are very tired they worked well! I am doing better routines without drops ……so worlds here we come! Hehehe! My ball comment for today was that it was a beautiful routine sometime little comment like this from a coach makes you satisfied! Also the ballet was really good today I am doing well and the comments made by the ballet teacher are good and positive! Missing England a little bit but I’m on top of the world when it comes to training…..GOODNIGHT

August 13th 2011

Dear diary,

Today was the worst day yet because we (Frankie and I) had to train 8hours without a break our muscle were dying it’s almost as if our legs had given up on us! We also had ballet it was harder because we were already so tired and the food levels were nearly on empty! We hadn’t eaten! But now after a lie down and a shower and some dinner we are feeling as right as rain  tomorrow is our day off! YAY! I’ll keep you posted

GOODNIGHT

August 14th 2011

Dear diary,

Day off wahoooo! I had a great day out of the gym today….we went on a 4 hour walk around the town of Bulgaria it is very different to England! Then we came back and had a girly session of nails. After we went for a meal in a restaurant in the mountains it was lovely then we were dropped off in town during a dark evening to get an ice-cream!!! IT WAS AMAZING!!! Mmm so tasty! And then we had to jump into bed ready to train the next morning……GOODNIGHT

August 15th 2011

Dear diary,

The start of training for this week begins today. Although it is my last week here….the bar has been raised again and the training plan has got harder! Preparing for worlds is a funny feeling; I’m not sure whether it has sunk in that I have been selected yet! This morning I had to do 5 hoop routines and it is getting better especially my 5th routines then I had to do 5 more routines on ribbon which I wasn’t as pleased with but mentally I am much more confident with the ribbon and all of my routines! Plus it can only get worse before it gets better! That’s what the coach tells me here! This afternoon I trained ballet and then ball and clubs I am pleased with these but at the moment I am a little deflated and tired from the training. It is only doing wonders for me though…….GOODNIGHT

August 16th 2011

Dear diary,

I am quite tired today but got to get through the training, so this morning I decided to do my hardest pieces ribbon and clubs they are like I have said before getting better. Then in the afternoon after ballet I completed hoop and ball…I was very pleased with ball again, now I am counting down the days until I get back to England 3 training days to go!

GOODNIGHT

August 17th 2011

Dear diary,

Today training was very good, amazing actually I felt that progress with all my routines! One of the best feelings ever to tell you the truth like it was all worthwhile! However today I managed to bend back two fingers which are now very fat and purple, hopefully they aren’t broken but I guess that I will live! We will see tomorrow…..2 days to go! GOODNIGHT

August 18th 2011

Dear diary,

My fingers still hurt and I am coping! Frankie has left for a competition in Sofia now I am alone in the room it gives me time to reflect on myself and my training even more! I am so pleased with myself I can’t even put it into words….gymnastics has changed my life completely from the friends and people I have met to the discipline and determination, to many achievements, it literally has made me, me! I am so grateful to be a part of it especially as I am going to the world championships!!! Encouraging words have been said here and I am ready inside I know I have everything to give! I say good luck to everyone that is fortunate to, like me, be a part of gymnastics and that they should take everything with you and keep it close! GOODNIGHT

August 19th 2011

Dear diary,

The last day in Bulgaria!! Has got to be the best day ever! All 4 routines I did without mistakes soooooo happy, it showed me that all the hard work and time here has paid off! Also many of the Bulgarian girls had learnt my routines and were trying them alongside me it was cute! At the end of training everyone wanted photos with me and the girls, I felt like a celebrity! That’s something I will always take with me! But now I have to pack all my things ready for the early morning to fly to England home sweet home!

p.s. my fingers are still really sore and are strapped together! Hehe!

GOODNIGHT

FOR YOU ALL TO ENJOY….MIMI CESAR XXXXXXXXX
