Well done to City of Birmingham gymnast Emma White, 22, who today became Senior Scottish Womens Artistic silver medalist at the Bells Sports Centre, Perth. Emma took 2nd place with a score of 49.933pts to the championship winning score of 52.367pts achieved by Amy Regan. Emma has also managed to make three finals in tomorrows Individual apparatus finals.

This is Emma’s first competition for City of Birmingham and the 1st step on her comeback road in her second Commonwealth Games journey. Emma’s Commonwealth dreams were quashed in Dehli 2010 Games when she sustained injury in pre-competition training and had to be flown home early and undergo knee surgery.

Today’s event is the first of four selection competitions for those gymnasts wishing to make Team Scotland for the Commonwealth Games 2014. Two of Emma’s performances today have already hit the Commonwealth qualification scores so a great start on the journey to Commonwealth Games 2014!
