Below, is her diary log made of the trip.

Dear diary,
Today (Friday 15th June) I am making my way to Romania, to compete for Great Britain. It has been a while since I have experienced this so I’m looking forward to it, I like competing abroad, it gives me confidence to know that I can inspire people all over the world but also its like a clean slate to competing as no one knows about you and when you step on to the carpet you get to prove yourself to surprise the world! So we started off at 4:15am this morning, tiring but it’s all an experience isn’t it? Hopefully it will be a good journey to begin a good weekend…….the team arrived in Romania at about 1pm and we were taken straight to the gym! The drive there was interesting, our ‘taxi man’ decided to take a short-cut on the pavement eeek! Anyway, we get to the gym and we have a training slot this is the time in which we get use to the floor and the spacing of the arena. Our training as a team went really well and we really enjoyed it, the weather is hot and training was different to training in the English weather. Personally I thought it was a brilliant start to the whole weekend and was wishing it will not be the end to my journey and competition in Romania. It was time to go to sleep and wait and see what tomorrow would bring at the competition.

Dear diary,
Today (Sat 16th June) is competition day, my butterflies are spinning but I can’t wait to get on the floor. I almost feel like this is my time and the training yesterday certainly helped my confidence. I have made sure that I have slept good hours so that I am feeling fresh to complete a clean performance. I sit in the hotel doing my hair and makeup and having packed my bag last night I was ready to go. I arrived at the competition hall and felt a rush of excitement. I listened to my music from my phone and zoned out for a bit to ready myself. Then i completed a warm up, I then psychologically readied myself picturing good routines in my head and then began to work with my apparatus. My first piece on the floor was ribbon, it was my time to shine, I presented on to the floor and that was it all I heard was silence this is my performance. The music began and I was off. Before I knew it was the end of my routine and all I could do was smile. It was a good routine! I was ecstatic, but I still had three more routines to complete so I had to prepare for my next piece, hoop, ball and finally clubs. Before I knew it my competition was over, with just minor mistakes. All in all I had a brilliant competition and achieved my personal best so far in my career with scores such as 24.650 for ball and ribbon and then 23’s for clubs and hoop. The only way is forward now, it’s good preparation for British champs in 2 weeks and actually I’m buzzing to compete again.

Dear diary,
Today (Sunday 17th June) I am watching the finals, this is a shame and almost a little draining, as I actually qualified for the finals in ball and ribbon, however the rules abroad are that only one gymnast per country in the finals, and this time Francesca Jones topped it. So I sat in the audience cheering on my team mate. So finally concluding my competition it was just what I needed at this point in my career, a little boost to keep going and to motivate me to continue to work to achieve at the British championships, so I hold my fingers crossed and look forward into repeating this competition back in England and lighting up the floor and the audiences eyes in Great Britain.
